The agreement
This website is run by Kwistech, a business based in Alberta, Canada, operated by John Kwisses. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Information, not advice
Everything on this site is general information about securing cryptocurrency. It is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything. Security is specific to your situation, and no page can know your situation. Decisions you make based on what you read here are yours.
The Mini-Crypto Security Assessment
The self-check is free and runs in your browser. Its score is based only on the answers you give, on ten controls out of the 106 in the full framework. It is a starting point, not a certificate, an audit or a guarantee that your crypto is safe. It does not create a client relationship between us.
Assessments and consultations
Paid services are described on the main page so you know what they involve. The price shown for the assessment is a starting point. Before any work begins you receive a written quote and an agreement, and those documents, not this page, govern the work. Nothing on this site is an offer that becomes binding by itself.
I never ask for your keys
No service I offer requires your private keys, seed phrases, passwords, or access to your wallets or accounts, and I will never ask for them. Treat any such request, from anyone, as an attempt to steal from you.
Using the site
You may read and link to this site freely. You may not copy its content for commercial use, misrepresent it as your own, interfere with the site, or use it for anything unlawful. The text, the assessment framework and the book The Citadel: How to Secure Your Crypto belong to Kwistech and John Kwisses and are protected by copyright.
Other websites
Links to other sites, including Calendly, Amazon, Cyber Soldier, Crypto Security Alerts, Kwistech and ISC2, go to sites I do not control. Their content and their terms are their own.
No warranty
The site is provided as it is, without any warranty that it is accurate, complete, uninterrupted or free of errors. I try to keep it correct and current, but the field changes quickly and I may not always keep up.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Kwistech and John Kwisses are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site or your reliance on its content, including loss of cryptocurrency, loss of access to it, or any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the laws of Alberta or Canada. Liability for paid services is addressed in the agreement for those services.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute about them is to be brought in the courts of Alberta.
Changes
I may update these terms. The current version is always on this page, with the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
Reporting a security problem
If you find a security problem with this website, email info@kwistech.ca with what you found and how to reproduce it. Please do not run tests that could affect other people or other sites, and do not include anyone else's data. I will acknowledge a report within five business days and will not take legal action against research done in good faith under these terms. The machine-readable version of this is at /.well-known/security.txt.
